Race fans you won’t want to miss the next event on the calendar. Sunday, May 3rd the series heads to the Hot Water Hare Scramble. This venue was voted Race of the Year by racers in 2012. The trail bosses also known as Tres Amigos gave this most recent report, the long course will feature 9 miles of rocky ground, and elevation changes galore. If you have made the last couple of races then you know a little bit about mud racing. Greg Pruss said they tried real hard to find some mud on this course so that everyone would feel at home but he said, “There ain’t no mud.” He’s right! The soil is exceptionally well drained with steep slopes, the only mud there might be would be just past a couple of small stream crossings. Racers can enjoy practice on Saturday and here’s a good deal. $10 for practice and then receive a $5 discount on race fees on Sunday. Free primitive camping at the race site or grab a motel room nearby in Hot Springs, Arkansas. One important note… No concessions are planned for this year so you best pack your own PB & J’s.
