HotWaterTerrain
With terrain like this, excessive rainfall immediately runs off due to the dramatic elevation changes.

The Hot Water race course sits on top of the same geology as Hot Springs, Arkansas.  It is a combination of porous chert, sandstone and quartz that literally soaks up rain.  The course got a good rain on Tuesday and about the same forecasted for Wednesday.  However, Friday, Saturday and Sunday forecast is clear and Sunny with Sunday temps in the 80’s.  There are several small stream crossings and those spots will have some mud as racers splash water through them, but only at those spots.  The vast majority of this course is rocky and steep.  There is significant elevation change over the entire course, so any flash rainfall runs off quickly.   This truly is a course that can take a lot of rain, and still provide for some spectacular racing.  We hate mud as much as anyone but so far the weather appears to be cooperating perfectly.
